Hello Everyone,

We had a good start back to school this week after some time off for thanksgiving. I hope that you enjoyed your break and that you are ready for the next chunk of time leading up to winter break. This week we started with some class time where you revisited the final research project. This project is designed for you to investigate some of the deeper parts of the food industry. Please feel free to explore where your interest lies as that will make it far more interesting. This week we started to move forward with practicing the cooking process. We have a bounty of tomatoes from the community garden and you were give free reign to make a recipe from it. You all chose pasta with a red sauce and overall this went well. Remember heat management and planning and foundational.

Hello everyone, This week we kind of completed the cycle of homemade flour products such as homemade noodles, flat bread and then a pan cooked style bread. We used butter in this case to create a different product and by cooking it on the stove the final product was something that was softer in the middle and more flexible to create a wrap if desired. We finished the week through giving you the opportunity to create chicken and add that to your bread, allowing you to make a homemade gyro or quesadilla.   Have a good weekend.

Hello everyone, I hope that you have had a good week. It has been eventful with current events. We have been continuing to work on some of the basic processes for baking and in a kitchen. These are time management, planning and organisation. With the white cake you have been making cupcakes and practicing the creaming method. Overall we have been finding some struggles with meeting expectations for keeping the kitchen clean and completing the tasks on time. We will continue to practice next week.
